MA mei le key admission competition dela!!

Chandragupta Maurya, Ashoka, Chanakaya, Guru Gobind Singh, Aryabhatta, Dr.Rajendra Prasad, Jayprakash, First war of independence, Mahaveer, Budhha, First satyagrah by Gandhi, Nalanda University....there is one thing which is common among all...Its Bihar.
The name that is synonymous to backwardness in our country. Its the same place which has produced countless personalities in different fields-whether its art ,literature, acting and music-Bismillah khan, tulsidas, premchand, Shatrughan Sinha, Manoj Vajpayee and the list is endless.
We hardly find people associating us with the good things.Instead Bihar is associated with corruption, backwardness etc.At the time of introduction if you reveal that you are a Bihari, ther other person might step back two steps (shayad darr se!!).
During British colonialism period, Biharis were forced to migrate to different parts of world. Today they have changed the face of those under developed economies. You go to Mauritus,Guyana, Suriname, Brazil, South Africa, Fiji, and Trinidad and Tobago and you will find the Biharis among the frontrunners.
One strange thing about us is that we don’t like working in our home state-reasons could be multiple. Firstly there is hardly any industries left to provide employment, too much of politics and other social disturbances. Apart from that we maintain a certain lifestyle/image in our home town, gaon and in our community. Hence taking some labour job might not sync with the status which we maintain there. Hence breaking that shackle is a bit difficult.
You go to Assam tea plantation -you will find bihari, go to Kolkata -taxi drivers and coolies are Biharis.Go to Mumbai-you will find lots of Biharis selling vegetables, milk to earn some money. They will work hard, save a major portion and come back to home town every year during Chhath festival. This is how the cycle goes.
Next comes the educated Bihari lot-which can be found in government offices, private jobs. Getting through the Civil Services is a dream of every Bihari. We love power and aaram ki zindagi."ek baar competition mei ragad ke padh liye, phir to aaram hi aaram hai!!!" Thats the mantra....
Take the list of toppers of any institute in any part of India and you will find a Bihari in top five.
There is another breed of educated Biharis who don’t want to be called themselves as Bihari. I can recall one of the incidents. There was a guy in our Institue named Pankaj Jha. One of friends asked him "Kaha Ghar padega?"(thats a typical question that you will encounter whenever a bihari meets another).
His reply was Kolkata.I started laughing-Yeh Kolkata mei kab se Jhaji rehne lagey. Then he said that "I am BASICALLY from Darbhanga but studied in Kolkata".
Thats how it goes.Litti Chokha zindabad!!!Hope to see another glorious period like the Maurya dynasty!!!

Leading from Behind-The Wall

WorldCup-Kahani shuru honey se pehle hi khatam--well why dont you ask the sponsors-

We were playing the best eleven (except for Ramesh Powar)...still we lost...
There were multiple reasons for our defeat in the league match not to forget our batting performance and 'Leading from Behind'-our captain.
The style of batting shows the basic nature of any person (whether he is aggressive in his approach or not). When Bangladesh were chasing a small total, our captain never thought of putting some close fielders and build some pressure.Given an inexperienced side like B'Desh, mistakes were inevitable.Instead he deicded to go for the normal field placement and the rest is history.
Rahul Dravid is a nice person and no one can doubt his dedication towards Cricket. But we dont need a 'Nice guy' to be our captain.

Cricket and politics-An Indian can talk endlessly.
You better start following Kabaddi because
-Cricket...No comments...
-Hockey-our coach has already destroyed our hockey team.
Is there any other game....Sania mania....hey give me a break!!

Proud to be backward

SC came out with a 'stay' on the proposed 27% reservation in IIT,IIMs and other elite institutes for OBC.Government(read Arjun Sigh) proposal for giving reservation was based on 1931 census. Now thas what we call the correct and relevant data to justify things.Politician can go to any extent to secure vote in a shorter period of time.
Earlier it was Mr. V.P.Singh who implemented Mandal committee recommendation by giving reservation in PSU jobs.Remember at that point of time Pvt. jobs were hardly there. Then it was a phase of liberalisation and Private sector grew like anything. Now we can find quite a lot of Indian MNCs because the base was built on MERIT and not RESERVATION.This time the politician wants to add quota system in Private sector as well.
Lets go back to the basics first. What's the basic reason for giving reservation-it could be economic backwardness, social backwardness or lack of any representation in the main stream of the society.
The 'General' category which has flourished in pvt. sector after the quota system in PSU.But this 'general' category is in minority when it comes to representation in the parliament. You hardly find anyone raising issues faced by 'General' category.Belonging to a 'general' category doesnot mean they are financially or politically strong or being an OBC doesnot mean he or she is poor.
We can call this as 'Myopic' politics...no one wants to talk about building infrastructure, creating investment opportunities because this won't fetch any short term benefits.See the fate of the previous government which worked on these programs and lost the election.
Ruling party in one of the southern state is busy creating a formula to have division among Muslims on the basis of caste(this doesnot exist till date in this state). This will allow them to provide some reservation quota for backward class muslims.I guess this is the only country where people feel proud in getting themselve 'enroled' in the list of 'Backward'.Divide and rule is not a thing of past.Todays politician follow the same formula by dividing us into caste so that they can attain their personal goals.

Who cares!!!

OK TATA

First Indian Multinational in making.....yes we are lucky to be part of that era where one can see an aggressive, confident Indian Corporate group ready to take the developed markets of first world. It's the biggest acquisition done by any Indian company. They have pioneered in many things-started the 8 hour work day in 1912 when all the developed world had 12hrs work day. They introduced leave with pay system which became a practice in India after independence.Tata Steel never had a labor strike eventhough there is a strong labor union...thats an enviable record....wat say...
Some people say that Tata let heart ruled over mind in this deal becuase they feel that it was an expensive buy.Let it be...There are times when you need take into consideration the emotions of people who are behind you....whether its the TATA family, its employees or Indians as a whole...This win was important...This will have a long lasting impact on Corporate world and TATAs as well...The products made by Corus rightly compliment the TATA Steel portfolio...The employee morale boost up was necessary(given the fact that world number one is starting a plant in your backyard)...employee retention would be a great challenge for them in future...Now TATAs are world number 5....They have a reason to smile...:-)

Jamshetji was not allowed in one of the British Hotel....He built Taj Mahal hotel Mumbai....Direct Dil se!!!!!!
